Commanding opener “Fast Worms” mutates from roaring riff-work to jazzy interplay, and the equally epic “The Unlikely Event of a Water Landing” gradually sinks into oceanic guitar shimmer and fretless bass. “The Pleasant Surprise", the most propulsive cut, serves as an enthralling showcase for Danny Walker’s superhuman drums.
