The Boston-based producer and songwriter’s forthright expressions of love, lust and the murky feelings that exist in between have the spilled-guts vulnerability of late-night confessionals; the gloomy, swirling grooves Ecru crafts for the love/hate chronicle “2 Am” and the self-lacerating missive to his ex “You” make his pleas even more affecting.
