Dana Al Fardan’s first foray into the music industry was a pop album—making Qatari composer and vocalist’s Sandstorm a powerful statement of purpose. Al Fardan’s immense talent is evident from the first moments of the title track, which ushers in a delightful waltz of melancholy, only to be dispersed amid the playful staccato of “Pride of a Nation”. The instrumentals, dexterously executed by the Doha String Quartet, give way to “Brave New World”,  featuring a delicate but powerful vocal performance.
