Album - Pop, Music, Vocal, Traditional Pop, Vocal Pop, Rock, Arena Rock, Pop/Rock, Standards
After Hours marked the end of a 20-year dearth of Glenn Frey studio releases (his last was 1992’s Strange Weather), but it also saw the singer/guitarist depart from his rockin’ past to tackle tunes from the Great American Songbook. Throughout, he’s graceful and laidback; he brings pathos to "The Shadow of Your Smile" and "For Sentimental Reasons,” while treating The Beach Boys’ “Caroline, No” and Randy Newman's "Same Girl” with impassioned, soulful reverence. And he sounds almost giddy on the upbeat “Route 66".
