“It’s going to get easier somehow,” cries Orlando Weeks on “Spit It Out”, an unintended nod to the turbulent making of his band’s fourth album. It took three years of abandoned ideas and intense discussions but the result is cohesive, purposeful and crammed with ambition and melody. Whether it’s the title track’s psych-punk crackle, barroom singalong-cum-stadium anthem "Something Like Happiness" or the tear-jerking restraint of “Silence", every agonized-over note counts.
