Shaped by an online consciousness which saw them gain a cult following by releasing single after single, Internet Girl is the direct product of a generation underpinned by the duality of the physical and online world. The trio’s debut EP, The World I Love, is an amalgamation of current EDM strands, indie rock guitar riffs (“Be My Guest”) and pop punk that sounds like it was straight outta the genre’s 2000s golden age (“Bitter” featuring Payday). Internet Girl is a product of their age, taking their cues from the simmering pop-punk zeitgeist that’s been brought to a fervent boil by hungry Gen Zers looking for something new to sink their teeth into.
