Assaf Amdursky’s highly anticipated eighth album—which includes the single “Ratzinu Pele”—was recorded at a 432 Hz frequency, slightly lower than the typical 440 Hz. It’s what gives the album a unique sound and name. Some of its eight tracks can be described as tender salsa tunes, while others are deep, quiet and melancholy indie-pop songs. “Three years ago, I felt Tel Aviv spit me out,” says Amdursky. “I went south with my car and a guitar across the border to an isolated, clean beach, went off the grid and connected to a frequency you might call 432, and let the songs drip out of me.”
