Yungeen Ace
All On Me
Album - Hip-Hop/Rap, Music
Following a tragic drive-by shooting that left him with eight bullet wounds and claimed the lives of his brother and two friends, Yungeen Ace became a member of Florida's expansive street-rap scene when he released his 2018 single "Pain”. Soaked in Auto-Tune, blunt honesty and flashes of trauma, the track cemented his knack for merging melodies with grim tales from the deceptively nicknamed Sunshine State. It's an M.O. that's coloured his work since, and it continues to do so on the prolific rapper’s eighth full-length project, All on Me. Ace travels familiar territory as he delivers pensive reflections on damaged romance ("Dead Roses" with Toosii) and the lifestyle that once almost killed him ("Life of Sin"). However, on "B.A.M.", a track with Kodak Black, he dives headfirst into gangsterdom, unloading the sort of hyper-specific block exploits that could only be pulled from memory.
