Concrete Jungle
Album - Amapiano, Music, African
Kwa-Thema native and rising amapiano star EeQue gathers lyricists, producers and instrumentalists for a project driven by storytelling and heartfelt lyricism. ThamaTee and 031choppa deliver a rags-to-riches tale on the bacardi-flavoured “Zizojika”, while on “Kuzolunga”, singer Dutch reassures his mother things will get better as acoustic guitar curls around thwacking bass. On “Baningi”, Bloet shows appreciation to a loyal and dependable partner while “Kanjani” highlights the importance of perseverance in the hustle. Mema Percent and Pills flex their lyrical skills on “Nithukile” as do Pcee and Sbuda Maleather on the epic posse cut “Osaletseng morao”. “Moza fever” is built on crashing percussion and thumping bass as EeQue, assisted by his acolytes, gives his take on the strain of amapiano known as Mozambique.
