Mystery Jets’ third album gracefully marries the imagination of debut Making Dens to the pop ambition of follow-up Twenty One. And for a record about failed love, it’s defiantly vibrant. “Show Me the Light” fuses chiming indie-rock with house basslines and percolating synths, while the title track fashions an unshakeable, stadium-grade chorus from isolation and loss. On the shoegazing grind of "Lorna Doone" though, they know just how to dim the light and re-engage with strangeness.
