About 28 North
Artist Biography
28 North were founded in Pittsburgh by singer/guitarist Michael Lindner. The group's 2007 debut album, Gone Too Far, had a jam band sound, heavily influenced by the Allman Brothers Band and the Grateful Dead, but the bandmembers decided to hone their songwriting skills and focus on a more Southern rock sound for their 2008 follow-up, Mystery. The band toured the U.S.A. relentlessly, playing festivals such as CMJ and SXSW, and opening for the Dave Matthews Band, My Morning Jacket, Dickey Betts, Ace Frehley, Blues Traveler, and many others. Following the band's self-titled 2010 album and 2011's Long Walk Home, the group relocated to Los Angeles. World on Fire followed in 2014, showcasing a more polished hard rock sound, and the group began work on a follow-up with producer Gavin MacKillop. ~ Paul Simpson
