Artist Biography
Known for his wordplay and wistful love songs, singer/songwriter Alex Beaupain is a star in his native France and has worked with one of that country's more daring filmmakers, Christophe Honoré. The two began working together in 2002 on the film 17 Fois Cécile Cassard. Beaupain provided the soundtrack, which featured one song he'd composed for singer Lily Margot. Two years after 2003's Qui a Tué Bambi, Beaupain released his own album, Garcon D'Honneur, which reflected his love of French singers like Serge Gainsbourg and Etienne Daho along with '80s acts like the Smiths. He worked again with Honoré on Dans Paris and the musical Les Chansons D'Amour. ~ David Jeffries
