Kentucky-raised Beegie Adair is a prolific jazz pianist who spent decades as an in-demand Nashville session player.
∙ Adair was the in-house pianist on The Johnny Cash Show, a music-filled TV series that aired from 1969 to 1971.
∙ She has instrumental credits on LPs by Levon Helm, Ronnie Milsap, Lorrie Morgan, and Janie Fricke, as well as the Smokey and the Bandit soundtrack.
∙ In 1998, she won Jazz Album of the Year at the Nashville Music Awards for The Frank Sinatra Collection, a compilation of instrumental covers.
∙ Save the Last Dance for Me, the 2012 LP featuring her take on ’60s pop hits, debuted at No. 8 on Billboard’s Traditional Jazz Albums chart.
