About Bob Booker
Artist Biography
Bob Booker was half of a comedy writing production team (with George Foster) whose accomplishments include a Grammy nomination in 1965 as well as a pair of political comedy sides, The First Family, a brazen and absurd satire of the John F. Kennedy presidency, as well as a follow-up volume. Both were huge hits that sold powerfully enough to squash the Beatles on the hit parade. Booker and Foster also created a whole series of albums devoted to Jewish comedy, including When You're in Love the Whole World Is Jewish and Al Tijuana and His Jewish Brass. You Don't Have to Be Jewish earned the pair a Grammy nomination for best comedy album of 1965, but they lost out to Bill Cosby's Why Is There Air?
