About Chantigs
Artist Biography
Constituting in San Francisco, CA, in the late '90s, the Chantigs bring forth some additional interpretations to the alternative pop scene. Founding their tunes amidst a daring combination of influences based upon styles like alternative rock and indie pop, the Chantigs follow their own trail within the wildest fields of the experimental rock style. Featuring Duke (bass, vocals), Josh (drums), Greg (guitar, vocals), and Elton (guitar), this Californian quartet represent its vision through straying themes expressing distinct and melodious concepts. Conquering a loyal fan base from the very beginning of their operations, mostly due to their enthusiastic performances, the Chantigs self-recorded and produced their debut album in the beginning of 1999. Up with the Chantigs confirmed the crew's better talent and upheld the team's success beyond the California underground music scene. Following almost a year of thrilling live performances all over the U.S., the Chantigs again entered the studio to record their sophomore effort. The Mission Faucet, the band's second full-length, arrived still in 1999 to considerable acclaim from the media. ~ Mario Mesquita Borges
