In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I remember listening to the album Cracked Rear View by Hootie and the Blowfish when I was in middle-school and it helped me get through a challenging time in my life. The songwriting, production, and vocals helped me truly connect with the music.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? JAY-Z, The Black Album KB, His Glory Alone II Lauren Daigle, Look Up Child KB, one of my favorite artists, delivers a high-energy and inspirational album with His Glory Alone II. Look Up Child by Lauren Daigle has deep songwriting and powerful vocals. I played the Black Album by Jay-Z was on repeat when I was in my teens.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Get Up” I wrote Get Up while reflecting on challenges in my life: my mom's death from a heart attack, my struggles with mental health, and having blood clots that could have killed me. Get Up inspires us to keep going when life gets tough.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I performed Get Up at in Charlotte, North Carolina and the crowd was hyped up, singing the song and dancing when they heard it for the first time. The venue where I performed nominated me for Artist of the Year and Alternative Artist of the Year.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? One of my goals is to perform a full set with a live band! I love the experience and energy of live instrumentation and know it will provide an amazing experience for listeners.
