Artist Biography
The Cowsills were a family band consisting of Barbara Cowsill and her sons and daughter. They were the model for the hit 1970s TV show THE PARTRIDGE FAMILY, but they had plenty of success of their own. The group started out in the mid-'60s, and released their first album in '67, which spawned the huge hit "The Rain, the Park, and Other Things." Their harmony-heavy soft-pop sound continued to earn them Top 40 hits for the next couple of years, most notably the theme from the musical "Hair." The group split at the end of the '60s, splintering off into various solo projects as well as bands like the Continental Drifters and the Blue Shadows.
