About Diana Jordan
Artist Biography
Diana Jordan's live album, Female, Fertile & Frustrated, was born from a live show that she performed for over 15 years before recording it. Originally performed as a woman-only show, she retooled it for a coed audience after she found several men sneaking into her show and began allowing anyone to attend. She still performs occasionally for women only, allowing them a protected space where they can behave as they wish without feeling self-conscious in front of men.
Jordan's early forays into entertainment weren't in comedy but in music. After attending the University of Oklahoma where she majored in music, drama, and psychology, she performed in Las Vegas as a blues and jazz singer in the lounges of the Desert Inn, the Flamingo, and the Tropicana, among others. When she moved to Los Angeles to further her career, though, she was drawn to improv, and her stage show was born. She moved to New York and continued to develop the show until it became popular on a national level. In the spring of 2000, her first album was released. ~ Stacia Proefrock
