About Hold The July
Artist Biography
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I remember the first time I tried to write a song on my own and how hard it was. I saw how easily the musicians around me were doing it and I felt bad. But I didn't give up, I tried, and now it's not as challenging as it used to be.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Alcest, Shelter (Deluxe Edition) God Is an Astronaut, Epitaph Sólstafir, Ótta I chose these three albums because they are the three biggest influences on the music I make now. As someone who has never written a song in his life and has never played post-rock, I tried to be inspired by these albums and bands.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Codependency” In the last months of 2020, I wrote a piece as a Christian iconography assignment for the Art History department I was studying at the time. I wrote this song inspired by Peter Paul Rubens' elevation of the cross, a 3-part altarpiece.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I think it was my first time on stage. At that time, I was both playing licensed basketball in the lower age groups and I was just getting interested in music. After I went on stage, I quit basketball and devoted all my time to music.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Of course, of course. Performing at dunk!festival is my biggest dream right now.
