About Jed Davis
Artist Biography
Long Island-based indie rock singer/songwriter Jed Davis began his career with 1994's 33-song demo tape Jed Has Too Much Free Time on His Hands. After winning a local following from his creative, extensive shows at Albany's Mother Earth Cafe, Davis started the Hanslick Rebellion in 1995; the group released a live album, The Rebellion Is Here, in 1996. During his time in the Rebellion, Davis accumulated over three albums' worth of solo material, much of which he reworked on We're All Going to Jail and Jed Davis Wastes 8 Years of His Life for Your Listening Pleasure with his former bandmate Sean Gould. After moving to Long Island, Davis and Gould formed the band Collider; J-Bird, Davis' label, released the tribute album Everybody Wants to Be Like Jed, which featured covers of his songs by Daniel Jonston, King Missile III, Brian Dewan, and Wesley Willis, in mid-2000. ~ Heather Phares
