Artist Biography
The frontman of the pioneering French new wave band Starshooter prior to embarking on a solo career, Kent, aka Kent Cokenstock, is a critically acclaimed singer/songwriter whose career spans several decades. Born in 1957 in Lyon, France, he founded Starshooter in 1975. Starshooter made their full-length eponymous debut in 1978 and released three additional albums before breaking up in 1982, the same year Kent made his solo album debut with Amours Propres. After two more albums in the '80s, Kent's recording output accelerated in the '90s. His popularity peaked mid-decade when French pop singer Enzo Enzo's hit recording of his song "Juste Quelqu'un de Bien" won a 1994 Victoires de la Musique award. Kent remained active and continued to garner critical acclaim in the new millennium.
