About Livin' Joy
Artist Biography
Eurodance group Livin’ Joy helped break the fertile Italian house scene of the mid-’90s into the UK pop charts with their 1994 single, “Dreamer”. Natives of Venice, brothers Paolo and Gianni Visnadi were living in Liverpool and working with the group Alex Party when they cooked up an infectious pop-house tune with American singer Janice Robinson on the hook; that song, “Dreamer”, became the debut single of their new group, Livin’ Joy. Reissued a year after its original release, “Dreamer” went to No. 1 in the UK, paving the way for two more Top 10 hits in 1996. By then, Robinson had left the group to pursue her own solo career and was replaced by fellow American Tameka Starr, who fronted the similarly buoyant house hits “Don’t Stop Movin’” and “Follow the Rules”, in addition to rerecording “Dreamer” for the group’s 1996 debut album, Don’t Stop Movin’. Occasional remixes of their hits have appeared over the years, cementing Livin’ Joy’s reputation as ’90s club icons.
