Artist Biography
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Cranking the volume and dancing wildly to the Imperial March while watching The Empire Strikes Back.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Goldfrapp, Head First Kendrick Lamar, To Pimp a Butterfly Mac Miller, Swimming I consistently come back to these. I can only listen to CDs in my car and they're always in rotation. I find new things to love, different songs stand out each time. The Goldfrapp record is my favourite pick-me-up.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “All It Does Is Change” I wrote this song about my Grandmother, Mary Penner. She was a remarkable woman who let me stick my head out of the sun roof of her moving car and made me Superman, Darth Maul and a Super Saiyan. She's a big reason why I make music today.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Finishing this record was extremely cathartic: mixing it at Rain City Recorders with Jesse Gander, the Promo shoot in Penticton, finishing the tribute music video for my Grandma, and most recently a music video for an unreleased song: Hope Princeton
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I'd love to make a live album and have a few weeks to rehearse with a band before we hit the studio. I've wanted to do that since I was a teenager.
