In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
When I was in a group guitar class at school, (I must've been in year 2?) I remember everyone getting stickers as rewards for learning the tunes.. I wasn't good enough and I doubted my ability, but now I'm the only one who performs as a professional What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
Ed Sheeran, + (Deluxe Version)
Eminem, The Marshall Mathers LP
The Killers, Sam's Town
MMLP was my gateway into music & taught me how to multi syllable rhyme / tell stories, if I had to only choose three these would be my most influential.
'+' taught me melodies and attention to detail in producing, Sam's Town taught me to be unique. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song.
“Mistletoe”
I'll never forget recording this at Ed's cold home studio in Guildford! I love the guitar riff I wrote, the catchy hook. We tried re recording this song to modernise it and it lost it's edge. Some things when it comes to art; you just can't touch. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
Probably selling out Ronnie Scott's Ruby Sings room with a live band to promote my album Falling Through Flaws. Even though I may have done bigger gigs and been on TV, this was when I was happiest and most excited for my career. It was very special. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
I'm going to sell out the O2 Islington. It's always been my plan to first sell out a 100 capacity venue and work my way up from there. Meeting my heroes one day through hard work (Sheeran and Eminem) is something I want to one day achieve in my life.
