About OLIVIA JOY
Artist Biography
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. As a little girl, an old friend and I would perform for my mom's bible study group. We would practice upstairs from when they started and perform for them when they finished. "Impossible" by Shontelle was a favorite.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Lauryn Hill, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill Summer Walker, Last Day of Summer Well, Lauryn is a given. I grew up off Lauryn, and "Ex-Factor" is one of my favorite songs of all time. Summer's album allows me to sing my heart out and be a soft girl in my feelings for a little. I love music so much that I can't choose a third.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Stupid Ways” "Stupid Ways" is a vibe. I love it because it motivates me to keep going. Anytime I'm struggling with the heaviness of life, myself, or anything really, it reminds me that I've overcome a lot before and have the ability to do it again.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I performed "Stupid Ways" for the first time at Crown Station in the QC on July 8th, 2023. They sang "stupid days from stupid ways" a cappella with me at the end, and you would've thought it was 100 people the way they sang out. My heart was full.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Of course, I have goals and things I want to accomplish, but singing and sharing music with you guys and the world is what drives me to accomplish all I want to do. I believe we were given gifts to share them, and that's what I'm going to do.
