About Peter Trappen
Artist Biography
Peter Trappen combines Eric Clapton-style guitar playing with his three octave, Bob Seger-esque vocal range for a sound that harkens back to the popular rock & roll of the late '60s.
Raised in a sleepy Midwestern town during the 1960s, Trappen absorbed the radio of the time and began learning to play the guitar at age eight. Trappen worked as a professional musician for 20 years and as the lead singer/guitarist, formed South Florida's vintage garage rock band the White Owls. In 2001, Trappen formed a publishing company in affiliation with BMI, called Umpteen Music, and released his debut solo album, Frequent Sea. Recorded over three years in his West Palm Beach studio, Frequent Sea was, for the most part, entirely performed and produced by Trappen. The straight-ahead rock songs, reminiscent of Clapton's solo work, are connected by a conceptual story line. ~ Charles Spano
