About Pinky Winters
Artist Biography
Fine jazz vocalist, Pinky Winter made her debut in Denver, alongside Dick Grove and her future-husband, Jim Wolf. After moving to Los Angeles, she recorded her debut album, Pinky, in 1954. A few years later came Lonely One, but not long afterwards Winters retired to concentrate on raising her family. It was not until the 1985, that she returned to the studio for the acclaimed Let’s Be Buddies, despite the glowing reviews it was almost 10 more years before This Happy Madness appeared. This album reached number 29 on the French jazz charts but was largely ignored in the US. Record companies failed to realize that the critics were right, and her handful of recordings, spread so thinly over four decades have become highly prized.
