About Rachel Cambrin
Artist Biography
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Watching the Beatles for the first time on the Ed Sullivan Show in the 1960s changed my life and what I wanted to be.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Alanis Morissette, Jagged Little Pill Counting Crows, This Desert Life I listen Alanis every morning and love her sound and take on love and life. I cover 3 Counting Crows songs when I play live and one Stones song for now but I feel both Desert Life and Beggars Banquet are perfect albums.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Sisters of the Dark (Remix)” Sisters Of The Dark was one of my first releases on line and it was my coming out songs as a transgendered person. Rachel and the Waif (Gia) are my two inner children and were meant to be muses in future songs and still may be but they are me.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I was busking at Island Plaza on Granville Island and a bunxh of visiting students were collecting in front of me. They were a choir from the States so I decided to play I Want It That Way and they all started singing along including the teachers.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I would like to play the Vancouver Folk Festival as well as go on repeated small club tours in both North America and South Africa.
