About Regis Danese
Artist Biography
A former member of the popular group Só Pra Contrariar, Régis Danese is a gospel singer from Brazil who scored a major hit in 2008 with "Faz um Milagre em Mim." Originally from Passos, Minas Gerais, he first established himself in the sertaneja duo Régis e Raí. Signed to BMG, Régis e Raí released a couple albums during the early '90s before Danese split from the duo and joined the lineup of Só Pra Contrariar. Danese experienced tremendous success as a member of Só Pra Contrariar, whose fourth album, Depois do Prazer (1997), for which he co-wrote a few songs, sold approximately three and a half million copies, a remarkable number for a homegrown Brazilian artist. In time, Danese embarked on a solo career as a gospel singer with an evangelical Christian message. His full-length album releases include Danese o Melhor Que eu Tenho (2006) and Compromisso (2008), the latter of which spawned the hit single "Faz um Milagre em Mim." ~ Jason Birchmeier
