About Riko Redz
Artist Biography
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. One of my earliest musical memories is listening to the radio in the car with my mom. Whenever "Party Up" by DMX would play, she would change the station because I would always replace "Yall" with "God". "God gon make me lose my mind."
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? G-Eazy, These Things Happen Lil Wayne, Tha Carter II Riko Redz, Live Fast, Die Slow "Tha Carter II" because Wayne is my favorite rapper and it's his best project. "Live Fast, Die Slow" is my debut album. It's the most fun I've had in creating a project "These Things Happen" reminds me of my old life and how I want my future to be.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Go Higher” I love my song "Go Higher", it's my absolute favorite song. It has a level of emotion and raw energy that I rarely put into my songs. From the writing to the vocals to the rock type beat, it's perfection. Also the last verse is a lyrical masterclass.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? When I was 19, I got to open and perform for Paul Wall (Still Tippin') and Baby Bash (Suga Suga and Cyclone) in Fort Washakie, Wyoming. They're the only famous music acts that I've opened for. And Baby Bash still remembers it today.
