About Tasha Taylor
Artist Biography
The daughter of soul legend Johnnie Taylor, Tasha Taylor grew up surrounded by music, but she wanted to be an actress. She earned some television roles when she was a kid, studied drama at Boston University and continued with it after college, but she was drawn back to music. Taylor sang with Jack Mack & the Heart Attack, then became part of Dan Aykroyd and Jim Belushi's Blues Brothers touring revue. Simultaneously, she placed solo songs on soundtracks -- she had cuts on both Men in Trees and Lipstick Jungle -- which led to the release of her debut album, Revival, in 2008. In 2011, she released Taylormade, a de facto salute to her father. In 2016, she released Honey for the Biscuit. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
