About Vows
Artist Biography
Indie pop band Vows began as a project between Jeff Pupa and James Hencken in Neshanic Station, New Jersey in 2010. Avid home recordists, the two friends collaborated on a collection of loose, vaguely psychedelic indie and folk-pop songs they titled Winter's Grave. It was self-released in 2011 and eventually found its way to NPR, where it was featured on Second Stage. Pupa and Hencken enlisted several friends to help them play the songs live and record their follow-up album, 2013's Stranger Things. A smattering of singles and a pair of EPs followed in 2014 as Vows' colorful, eccentric sound continued to evolve. Released in 2015, Soon Enough boasts warm psych pop tones similar to bands like Foxygen and Temples. ~ Timothy Monger
