About Zena Airale
Artist Biography
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I've been really into soundtracks for several years, especially music, TV, video games, and theatre. I've also really enjoyed fan songs about different kinds of media. A lot of the music influences come from my dad.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Joel P West, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (Original Score) Jorge Rivera-Herrans, EPIC: The Troy Saga (Original Concept Album) - EP Ninjago Music, The Fold, Lego Ninjago: 10 Year Anniversary Soundtrack I really like story driven music that hits deep, whether that be musically or lyrically. I'm also drawn to recurring leitmotifs, having co-created a log of the themes in the LEGO Ninjago soundtrack.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Prosecution: Season One Opening Credits Theme” This was one of my first forays into composing original soundtracks not explicitly based on another fandom. I excel at creating simple base melodies and themes that Sote/Soul Of The Existence expands into orchestrations.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? In 2018, I had the idea of starting the Ninjago Musical fan project. One thing led to another and I was not expecting to get where I am today, with many, many people becoming involved with the Realm of Harmony project as time went by.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I'm still quite new to the professional publishing side of music-making but I'm really excited to share my voice with the world, considering my own personal experiences, that are laced in trauma survival.
