But unlike many of the musicians inspired by John Carpenter in the 21st century, he isn’t content with merely paying tribute to the horror icon’s eerie film soundtracks. Instead, the mysterious producer—who rocks a skull mask in public—grafts his spine-chilling arpeggios and basslines to thunderous beats inspired by dance music and heavy metal in equal measure. The result is deeply unique synthwave records like Possessor and Non Paradisi that both club kids and headbangers lap up.
