Songwriter/guitarist Buddy Miller has commanded enormous respect in the country and Americana fields. His rootsy albums often include accompaniment from his wife, Julie Miller, a songwriter and vocalist herself. After decades as an itinerant musician, Miller released his solo debut in 1995 before joining Emmylou Harris' touring band. His connection with Harris—and later Steve Earle—drew greater attention to his own musical efforts. Miller also enjoyed a successful sideline producing and writing for The Dixie Chicks and Jimmy Dale Gilmore.
