Husband-and-wife jazz twosome Tuck & Patti had enormous success in the ‘80s with their pared-down renditions of standards and originals, anchored by his West Coast guitar and her soulful voice. The Bay Area natives logged time in funk acts before joining forces in the early ‘80s. They developed a local following in the San Francisco area, then signed with Windham Hill to release their breakout album, Tears of Joy, which reached No. 8 on the Billboard Contemporary Jazz chart. They produced several more Top 20 jazz albums, all featuring their signature romantic sound.
