Blazing saxophone solos, simpatico snares and jamming electric guitars—Moonjam's sound is unabashedly smooth. The prolific Danish band, founded by brothers Morten and Rasmus Kærså, are well into a 30-plus-year career—their debut album Morten Kærså & Moonjam was released in 1986. Building walls of sound from punchy saxophones, sparkling piano refrains, snappy synth pads and sharp drums, the band can turn from the disco and funk grooves of their upbeat tracks to more sinuous, romantic instrumentals without skipping a beat.
