DJ Q, a.k.a. Shollen Richy E. Quarshie, was an early starter. At just 12 years old, he got involved with his local U.K. garage scene in Huddersfield, and soon began producing and DJing at local house parties. When he turned 21, he became BBC Radio 1Xtra's youngest-ever DJ, grounding the nation in the North's indigenous bassline scene. Since then, he's released brilliant solo cuts—like his 2008 breakthrough, "You Wot!"—and remixed the likes of Kissy Sell Out and Royal-T.
