Influential singer/songwriter Lars H.U.G. has been a catalysing force in Danish rock music since the '70s, when his band Kliché proved themselves New Wave pioneers in the developing Dutch scene. By the mid-'80s, Kliché had parted ways and the newly solo artist was bravely diving into even more shadowy, experimental sounds. Steadily releasing innovative music in the decades since his 1984 solo debut, H.U.G. has explored romantic bossa nova, dark, echoing rock 'n' roll and even acoustic country-folk—all tied together by H.U.G.'s exceptionally rich, emotive voice.
