As their fourth album Romance draws nearer, Fontaines D.C. unveil new single “Favourite”, the track that heads up Antidote this week. While tearing up The Park stage at Glastonbury in June, the band rounded off a brilliant set with April single “Starburster” and this shimmering, open-hearted song—the grand closer of Romance (due out 23 August). “I’d say it was my favourite in terms of how the show went,” guitarist Conor Curley tells Apple Music about the band’s third experience of playing the Somerset festival. “There was no nervousness or feelings of imposter syndrome. Just a shared experience. The inspiration behind ‘Favourite’ for me is the feeling of floating that some songs capture—songs like [1990 single] ‘The Jangling Man’ by [Essex DIY indie pop legends] The Cleaners From Venus.
