From a starting point partially located in their hometown of London’s dance and indie clubs, and partially in the UK’s world music scene, Oi Va Voi set out to explore uncharted creative landscapes where modern pop blends with folkish elements from the Middle East and Eastern Europe. The sextet use the clarinet, violin, trumpet and a plethora of other instruments in their expeditions, leaving behind a trail of enchanting songs that are as reminiscent of Jewish synagogues and Gypsy celebrations as they are modern nightclubs.
