An indulgent departure from the grit and grind elsewhere on the project, the swinging club stepper samples SWV’s 1997 track “Can We” to add another shade to an album that preaches equal embrace of life’s light and dark moments. “It’s just the desire to keep growing as an individual and as a musician,” Headie One tells Apple Music about the scope of influence for album two. “That was my plan from the very start—to be the best I could be at whatever I’m doing. It was never about the money.
