Highasakite began life as a duo when vocalist Ingrid Håvik met drummer Trond Bersu, a student at the Trondheim Jazz Conservatory, in 2011. Gradually expanding their lineup to a five-piece and developing a sound straddling epic indie rock and insistent synth-pop, Highasakite produce soaring songs powered by electronics, juddering percussion and Håvik's powerhouse voice. Acclaim in their home country has continued throughout Europe and this playlist is an ideal introduction to their essential, propulsive and dramatic pop.
