Since his 2008 debut LP Where Were U In ’92?, Zomby—real name Justin Moulds—has produced electronic cuts that are as corporeal as they are visceral. Zomby is as skilled at turning a smooth Aaliyah classic into a glittering, house-inflected roof-raiser (“Float”) as he is at skittering beats and blips set to hypnotic, ethereal synth lines (“Horrid”). Meanwhile, tracks such as “Euphoria” and “Step 2001”—the latter which finds him collaborating with grime icon Wiley—reveal a strong influence of jungle and UK rap on his sound.
