Led by Young Adz and Dirtbike LB, D-Block Europe is a rotating collective of South London artists with the sole mission of blending as many sounds as possible to break down the boundaries of hip-hop. Their songs mix the percussive pace of American trap music and the shifty breakbeats of grime with the smooth sensibility of R&B. “Tell The Truth” represents the purest distillation of all these ideas, with its staccato drums and wailing, soulful vocal sample. But the group aren’t afraid to lean into their sensitive side, as they fully embrace the melodic influence of R&B with the romantic downtempo jam “Favourite Girl”.
