Håkan Hellström rose from relative obscurity to become one of Sweden's biggest rock stars. Previously a member of alt-rock outfits like Honey Is Cool with Karin Dreijer of The Knife, Hellström got his break when “Känn ingen sorg för mig Göteborg"—and its subsequent album—blew up the Swedish rock charts in 2000. His mature sound incorporates soulful lyrics, epic guitar riffs and atmospheric swirls of production, leading some to dub him Sweden's answer to Coldplay. He'd later experiment with gospel harmony and Brazilian samba to increasing commercial and critical acclaim.
