All accomplished musicians in their own right, the trio of REIS, Kyujitsu Kacho and Etsusha came together as DADARAY in 2017 to create music outside the constraints of society’s expectations. Inspired by the artistic concept of Dadaism, the band’s output is characterised by a joyously experimental pop sound that incorporates everything from summery, key-powered vibes to dizzying math rock rhythms, nimble jazz funk and subtle electronic touches. Despite these disparate influences, their songs share a distinct internal logic—and shine a vibrant ray of light in the Japanese indie scene.
