Yonige’s pop-punk attack leaves a strongly cathartic impression. The Osaka band sounds invincible with distorted power chords, scratchy guitars and melodic bass, fuelling songs that inspire fans to hit the road and leave the house. Shout-aloud hooks and unique time signatures epitomise the duo’s occasionally unconventional approach, while forays into sugary-sweet choruses paint a portrait of two musicians wholly comfortable in their own skin.
