From one angle, Tuyo are the epitome of a modern pop group: subtly blending a softened trap sound with sweetly harmonised vocals and a touch of melancholy in the melody. From another, however, they are a reimagining of traditional Brazilian music, where classic Latin and samba rhythms are transformed as machine beats—and the familiar mellow acoustic guitar is surrounded with all that contemporary production has to offer. The result is excitingly unclassifiable pop that feels future-facing while also acknowledging its past, delivered with just the right amount of seductive appeal.
