For over two decades, self-taught guitarist Jimmy Dludlu has endowed every strum with an African aesthetic. Since his SAMA-winning debut album Echoes From the Past, the Mozambican artist has emulated influences like George Benson by crafting a signature sound. From the effervescent “Point of View” to the optimism of “Africa Africa”, Dludlu reflects his journeyed upbringing by dovetailing Latin sounds into Central, West and Southern African rhythms.
